Delivery Success

Online shopping has grown significantly, leading to, amongst some great things, an increase in theft and customer complaints.
By law, goods ordered online (Distance Selling) remain property of the seller until proof of Delivery is provided.
This is where the Couriers come in, if the goods aren’t received then Their Insurance must pay for Lost or Damaged Goods.
Which in turn hikes the insurance policy up causing high P&P prices.
Of course good operators have strict policies they expect their delivery drivers to follow.
This means that the driver sometimes just will not deliver the item. Those that get caught out end up on the receiving end of a fine or disciplinary action. Perhaps on the news, or even worse a Facebook community group.
To prevent this, couriers follow strict policies, and failure to comply can result in penalties or public complaints.
Most couriers including Evri, DPD, Yodel, often use self-employed Courier-Drivers. The contract usually comes with penalties & fines for failing to comply with policies & procedures.
Signatures have been replaced by photographic proof of delivery.
To ensure smooth deliveries, it should be encouraged that everyone Downloads & updates tracking app profiles with preferred delivery instructions such as safe place details, preferred neighbour, what3words location.
